Jan Chaboyer        ACCLAIMED

My name is Jan Chaboyer. I have served 8 years on City Council as the Councillor for the Green Acres Ward, and have served as Deputy Mayor within the last term. I am asking for your support to re-elect me so I can continue to deal with your concerns and be your voice on the direction for the future of our great city, Brandon.

My partner, Brent Chamberlain and I have resided in the Green Acres Ward for over 30 years and raised our 3 children there. I have been employed at Brandon University for 30 plus years as a Purchasing Officer. Brent and I are firm believers in giving back to our community. In the past I have been actively involved in various organizations such as: Brandon Labour Council, BU DayCare, Westman Youth Football, Brandon Environmental Council, annual United Way Campaigns, and much more.

It is important for our City to thrive with lots of opportunities, services and activities for all age groups, and top notch infrastructure for a growing city. This is done by effective programming, policies and planning that I would like to be a part of in planning the direction of Brandon. It is also imperative that we do this with reasonable taxation that our citizens can afford.

I will stay true to my principles that a healthy, vibrant city is inclusive, that every citizen matters, and we are fair in our distribution of programs and services. My emphasis will be to respond to citizen’s concerns promptly and hope for successful resolution of their issues.

I pledge to work hard to help resolve the serious issue of ‘Meth’ and other drug addictions which is contributing to the ongoing crime and safety issues within our ward, and in fact the whole city.  I will also focus on economic prosperity with hopes of good paying jobs, reduction in poverty, effective infrastructure, and a healthy, safe environment that serves the people of Brandon.

I am asking for your support to re-elect me. If you would like to meet or speak with me, I can be reached by calling 204-726-4447.

Thank you.
