It’s hard to believe 4 years have gone by. I am proud of what this mayor and council have been able to achieve together. Despite a challenging fiscal environment, we managed to keep municipal tax increases at or below inflation without any reduction to services. We developed a solid, straightforward plan and fulfilled our objectives.

The Rosser ward is a dynamic, inclusive area made up of seniors, university professors, post secondary students, Indigenous people and amazing local businesses. It’s the heart of our city, and there is no other area I would rather be representing. Together, we improved lighting, fostered growth and investment through public/private partnerships, increased tax revenue, and ensured that city council prioritized downtown revitalization. I believe we have turned a corner, and that the future looks bright for our ward.

Still, we have important decisions and challenges ahead. The loss of the 8th street bridge disconnected our north end residents from the downtown. We have a meth crisis that needs dedication from your city to be part of the solution. Our city needs soccer fields, improved sidewalk infrastructure, a back lanes strategy, new playgrounds- and we need to do this without overburdening our tax base. If the past 4 years are any indication, your city council is up to the challenge!

It has been an absolute honour to serve as your city councillor. I ask that on October 24th, you give me another mandate to work for the Rosser Ward, using my energy, experience, and voice on Brandon’s city council.

My vision for Brandon is:

"A Healthy, Wealthy, Happy City"

I have lived and or worked in downtown Brandon for well over 30 years and I love the Rosser Ward.  I always have and always will.  Through my work as the Regional Manager of a local charitable organization I have:

Transformed 5 vacant downtown buildings into successful businesses

Built 60 apartments in downtown Brandon

Built 10 new low-income family homes

Created the downtown Building Re-Fit Store

Helped shut down 2 slum apartment blocks

Helped create Brandon's first Skateboard Park

Built the downtown Global Market, the downtown Community Kitchen, the downtown Playground and the downtown Skating Rink

And there is much more that I want to do to make the Rosser Ward and the City of Brandon even better:

I believe that we can save tax dollars and help save the environment by converting City Transit into a fast and efficient grid system

I plan to Increase parking for downtown businesses

I will work with families so that they can buy their first home

I want to reintroduce bicycle licensing so more stolen bikes are returned to their owners

Plus much much more.
