Barry Cullen

Barry Cullen

Barry has represented the Victoria Ward on council for the past four years. He has lived in the Victoria Ward for over 35 years now, raising his family, Lindsay, Samantha, and Kurtis, with his wife Donna. Barry has always been extremely active within the Brandon community. He has held the position of United Way Campaign Chair, President of the Brandon and Area CNIB Board, and has held the position of President of the Keystone Lions Club. Barry is a Past-President of the Brandon Chamber of Commerce and served on the board for the Manitoba Chamber of Commerce. In 2016 Barry was awarded the Brandon Chamber of Commerce community service award. Barry has been a long time downtown business owner, starting Keywest Photo Image by Design in 1982.

"It would be a pleasure to use my combined social and business experience once again to help guide our city through the next four years. My commitment to you as a tax payer is: I will watch over your hard earned tax dollars. It is extremely important to hold taxes in line with that of inflation. We must live within our means. I will always be looking for efficiencies, making your tax dollars go further with improved results. I will always remain respectful to both mayor and fellow councilors. The respect will also be extended to our administration staff as a professional management team. Together we need to move forward professionally and responsibly. Our city is not just pot holes and garbage pickup. Our city consists of an airport, recreation facilities, a modern police force, fire fighters and paramedics. It is water treatment plants, landfills, tourism, multi-cultural vibrancy, the Keystone Centre, and yes,
hundreds of miles of roads, walking paths and back lanes, with snow removal to flowers on the boulevards. It is youth programming, swimming pools, splash parks, ice rinks, the WestMan Centennial Auditorium, and a golf course. We purchase buses, loaders and graders, lift stations and thousands of liters of gasoline and diesel fuel. We have a full HR department, IT departments, Engineering and Planning departments. Over the past four years, it has been my pleasure to serve this community as the Victoria Ward councilor. I request your support so I may continue to serve the Victoria Ward and this great city over the next four years. "

Sincerely,
Barry Cullen

I love Brandon and have a passion to serve this community.  I have been successful in the public, private and non-profit sectors. I am a very active volunteer. My grandparents and parents are originally from Brandon and I have resided here since 2009. My wife and I have decided to permanently reside in Brandon because we believe it is the best place in the world to live.  The current Mayor and Council have done a good job; therefore, I am not running on a "we need change" platform, rather my motivation is to contribute my time and experience to the city to ensure Brandon continues to progress and be an even better place to live and work.  A city with low taxes, strong infrastructure, low unemployment, safe neighbourhoods and ample recreational opportunities. I live in the Victoria Ward and I’m looking forward to meeting many more neighbors along the campaign trail. Please contact me if you have any questions or would like to have coffee.
