I chose to run to help move this community forward. I believe in engaged leadership with a well thought out and positive eye towards growth and feel this city is well positioned to harness that growth. I want to ensure that the community entrusted to us by our seniors is in good hands and that we are good stewards of this asset for our children. As a father of two who grew up in the ward, my wife and I could not have chosen a better spot to build a life. This ward and this community are my home. I bring a strong and capable voice to represent the needs of University Ward residents and look to continuing to advocating for opportunities to build our city while being mindful to keep our costs within reach.

Whether volunteering with our local community centre, advocacy for downtown sustainability or in my professional role with the Board of Governors at Assiniboine Community College, I believe in hard work and the payoff that comes from that. I believe the work I have been a part of has bettered our community and I look forward to bringing that same work ethic to our civic leadership.

I have lived in Brandon for the last 24 years. Together with my late husband, Allen, we made our home and raised our three children, Sarah, Nathan, and Alanna, in the University Ward.

My family and I have loved living in Brandon and I am committed to participating as a City Councillor and contributing to my community.

I am currently the Executive Director of the YWCA Brandon where I have been involved with community issues such as affordable housing, homelessness, domestic violence, and working with vulnerable populations, for over 23 years. Prior to my employment at the YWCA, I worked in the financial sector and my husband and I operated a family business.

I have been an active member of the Brandon community for over two decades serving on several city-wide committees concerning housing, homelessness, and family violence, the Brandon Regional Health Authority Board as well as skating and racquetball groups.

As the councillor for the University Ward, I would work to ensure that Council makes solid decisions to ensure that Brandon grows in a sustainable manner through proper growth, infrastructure, and economic planning. I would also place an importance in creating and maintaining recreational facilities while also fostering inclusion for all members of our community.

Brandon and the University Ward, in particular, is a great place to live and to raise a family. I believe that my experience, knowledge, and determination will be assets in representing you on City Council.
